Today DEc 25th 2007 , yet another Christmas Season

The Season of of Cakes,Santa Claus, Christmas trees, Love and Joy and peace!

Everyone's in a celebrating mood..... but has anyone thought about what we are celebrating? Often we find reasons to celebrate , to go out for dinner or to party! but do we always celebrate what we are ought to?

Today at church our priest conveyed a beautiful message. He asked us "Why do all put up Stars at our homes for Christmas? " We were all silent for some time, expecting the question to pass as usual, but he wanted an answer from us, and he waited till some of us started murmuring our own point of views. There were answers like: "it's in memory of the star which shone on the day Jesus was born, the star which led the 3 wisemen to where Jesus and his family was."

Our priest agreed, yes ofcourse it is in memory of that bright and beautiful Star which shone on Dec 25th many years back! But why do we put it up in OUR homes? ...his Explanantion was as follows:

We believe that a bright star led the wisemen to where Jesus was born, and it stayed above the manger where Jesus lay. So we put up stars in our homes today, to symbolise that Jesus is there in our homes too.

Very good and logical explanation, right? This puts us back to point No.1, that when we celebrate an event we should do it with our full heart! knowing what it is meant to be.

So can we actually Celebrate Christmas? In today's world where families are torn apart with the knives of Money and Status! In this world where brother turns against brother for the sake of money. In this world where noone can be trusted ,even ur self!

So then What are we Celebrating? New Years come and go, and the maximum we do is wish everyone a Prosperous New Year. When a year ends do we actually think back about how prosperous it had been? and how we can improve ourselves and thereby the world in the coming year? ?? Think about it...... about how YOU can make a difference in YOUR LIVES and in OTHER'S this New YEAR.
